Many people are now in search for spiritual direction, and they are coming across of the spiritual thought named “the Law of Attraction”. This is a Quantum Physics theory, the branch of science that deals with nature at small scales, low energy of atoms and subatomic particles, but I won’t explain physics to you, don’t worry about that.
I think you may have heard of it before, in other references such as the listed below.
- “What you seek is seeking you.”
- “What goes around comes around.”
- “Any action done deliberately with intention of body, speech or mind leads to reciprocal consequences. (The law of Karma)”
- “For every action, there is an opposite but equal reaction. (Newton’s Law)”
- “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.”
- “When you want something, the whole universe conspires to help you achieve it.”
- “You reap what you sow.”
Seeing the Law of Attraction in Everyday Life
I have never fully understood why or how I influenced these events cited in the references above, but I do know I’ve experienced them and their outcomes. I’ve always thought that everything happens randomly, and bad events were inexplicable. In addition, I had questions that defied the existence of the Law of Attraction.
For instance, why did gentle and generous people seemed to attract bad accidents? Why didn’t the malevolent people that crossed my path seldom get their comeuppance as promised? Over time I conclude life was better lived as agnostic, you’re born, you live little a lot a weird stuff and then you die.
But this opinion was rapidly changed by some life loss and outcomes that happened with me. I realized that a huge amount of what I was suffering was created by my mind. I suffered or celebrated according to conclusions I made up, because I decide if things are good or bad, wrong or right.
When you go through huge transitions such as a divorce, life forces you to reflect on everything that led you to that point and that moment, you start thinking about your whole past, and you discover that every person that you have shared life with or every event you have lived helped shape you into the person you are today.
When you are on your own, you start to realize that all the occasions that you go through and all the people you met only happened because of you and your choices. So, that opinion I had back then in the first seconds of this text? Yes, no longer exists.
It is Your Intent Behind Your Actions That Drives the Law of Attraction
Once I thought I had everything figured out, I believed that by applying this theory to my every routine actions and thoughts, good things would prevail. However, this didn’t happen. I was almost quitting on this but fortunately I discovered the root of the problem.
Law of Attraction is a real deal, but for it to work I need to do my part, which I wasn’t. My method wasn’t REAL. The thing is, humans base all actions, decisions and thoughts on deep-seated convictions we hold about ourselves and, overtime, we trust on this self-image we created and by doing so we unconsciously base our actions on it. You captivate from the Universe what you believe in because this is what drives your actions and thoughts and moves and decisions EVERYTHING.
Becoming Aware of Your Intent
As the time goes by and you live whatever it is that happens in your life, you build an image of yourself mainly because of what people say about you and how they treat you. But even if this is not the real thing, the real image of you keeps hidden on your subconscious driving your every move becoming the foundational belief behind everything you have ever done or set out to do.
The real bummer here is that you keep yourself from living the life you deserve, being unsatisfied most of the time. When I learned about the Law of Attraction, I realized that my false self-image was responsible for drawing people away and keeping me from living situations that I wanted to; no matter what I did, it would never be good enough to gain acceptance. Dutifully, the Universe sent reinforcements to help me experience what I was unconsciously projecting about myself.
To Sum Up…
If the Law of Attraction is not working for you and bringing you all kinds of experiences that you dream of, chances are it is because of what you wrongly assume about yourself (because of what you have lived in the past). But, don’t worry, you are not the only one. Most of us, because of our environment and experiences, adopt a false self-image of being flawed and not worthy enough for the best things in life.
Not everything is lost, you can still learn who the real you are and use the Law of Attraction at your favor. It is never to late to start trying.
